Mark Naylor has almost 25 years of experience in product development of increasingly sophisticated software products. Most recently Mark served as Director of Product Development for Freemarkets, one of the most successful startups in Pittsburgh history. While there, he managed a hybrid team of FreeMarkets employees and contractors in developing new and enhanced software products.
Prior to that he was in charge of product development at two other startup companies, Wisdom Technologies and Transarc, which he was with when it was acquired by IBM. At Wisdom Mark developed product plans through four releases of their products, coordinating his activities with those of sales, marketing and their business partners. He also developed the company's initial marketing plan and budget. At Transarc he was involved in all phases of product and marketing strategy and development, and created their product roadmap from interactions with the entire company and its clients.
For the first 17 years of his career, Mark was involved with Digital Equipment Corporation in the Boston, MA, area. Mark started out as a software engineer and was promoted five times until he reached the position of managing an entire software engineering department. During this period he was involved with numerous complex software development efforts across multiple product releases, which included securing product patents and post-release client support.
Mark has a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh. |
