Joe Anania is currently Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Armstrong Development, Inc. a full service commercial real estate company with six offices throughout the United States. Prior to joining Armstrong, Joe served as an independent consultant and Acting COO/CFO to start-ups that are primarily engaged in the development of manufacturing and healthcare technologies. A representative list of clients include: a company engaged in identifying and understanding protein interactions in the rapidly emerging proteomics field, a company developing a digital microscope and related software for the pathology market, a company engaged in implementing the new HIPAA patient privacy rules through a combined services/toolset model and a company developing software and portal products for the staffing service industry.

Joe also served as the Director of Corporate Development for the Diversified Services Division of UPMC Health System (UPMCHS) from 1997 to 2000. His responsibilities at UPMCHS included: evaluating potential acquisitions, mergers and joint venture opportunities and assisting in the selection, negotiation and tracking of venture capital investments in emerging healthcare technologies. In addition, Joe served as the Acting CFO and Chairman of the Board of Directors for a behavioral healthcare software developer based in Chicago, IL.

Joe's previous experience includes 10 years of "Big Five" experience working in a financial consulting role for both large and mid-sized companies. As a Senior Manager in both the Financial Advisory Services Group at Deloitte & Touche and Coopers & Lybrand, he was responsible for engagements involving business and financial analyses in connection with mergers, acquisitions and business restructurings. In addition, Joe assisted middle market clients in assessing capital budgeting decisions, evaluating financing alternatives and assisting customers with defining and implementing strategic direction.

Joe holds a BS in Economics from Allegheny College, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business and a CPA from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
