Two years ago we moved our financials to the whiz-bang ERP system. It was a painful and arduous process, but the benefits have proved to be worth the effort. Now the ERP rep has convinced our CFO that we need to upgrade to the most recent version. Although the rep assured him that this would be an easy upgrade, I'm somewhat leery of what will be involved.

We haven't gone through an upgrade with this system, but Entire provides us with some perspective on other application upgrades we've encountered. To get some specific information I link into Entire's site and post a request, highlighting our ERP application. Along with the posting, an automatic notification is sent to all members of the Entire community who use this ERP application. Within 48 hours, I've received several very informative replies from fellow Entire users, along with offers to supply project plans. Entire is certainly appropriately named, as it continually provides services that more than Entire its presence.

Many companies are furious about the bug-ridden, pricey and over-engineered systems that they bought during the bubble era and are doing their best to switch to simple, off-the-shelf software, offered in "enterprise-resource planning" packages and the like.
